A law remains the same through out India unless the subject of that law is referable to the concurrent list in the Seventh Schedule and the state has effected amendment thereto in its applicability in the state. All states in India conduct Judicial Service Examinations based on a pre-published syllabus, either by the High Court concerned or through the respective Public Service Commissions to select eligible candidates to be inducted to appropriate judicial service. When there is a specifically prescribed syllabus and the general law of the country is the same, when questions are mainly based on the respective provisions of general laws , there is every possibility of the same questions being asked in different state judicial service exams.
We can see many questions are repeated. When one goes through the previous question papers of different states in different years, (compilations of such questions with worked out answers or based on the keys published by the respective examiners are available in book stalls) one will get an idea of the fertile areas from where questions are repeatedly asked. An over all scrutiny of the previous question papers of the different states will give a student a better idea of the subject and the nature and pattern of questions that may be asked in the tests. Students can also understand the different types of questions asked based on the very same provisions. Authenticity of the answers can be easily checked with the concerned provisions of law. Such exercises will definitely benefit a student who enthusiastically pursues his studies with an ardent desire to occupy any targeted position.
Any compilation of previous questions on a particular law subject will be beneficial to all law related examinations where such examinations are based on multiple choice questions. Try it and feel the change in you. As far as previous question papers of Kerala Judicial service are concerned, a compilation is available at Neethi Law House, Over bridge Jn, Trivandrum 1 ( Mob 9446735000) and the questions of other states are concerned, a publication is available with Mahaveer Publications, Kangan Stationery Stores, New Market, Dibrugarh, 786001, Assam ( Mob 9864430084). Questions are important, rather than answers in the first stage of any study. All the best.
